Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Introduction
mp3tomidi.art ("we", "us", or "our") operates mp3tomidi.art (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our AI-powered audio-to-MIDI conversion tool. We are committed to transparency and to safeguarding your privacy.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. How Audio Processing Works
Your privacy is central to our design. Here is how your audio data flows through our system:
- Browser-side processing: When you upload an audio file, it is first processed entirely within your browser using our audio analysis engine. Your raw audio file never leaves your device at this stage.
- Structured data only: The browser extracts structured audio data (waveform characteristics, frequency analysis, and timing information) from your audio file. Only this structured analysis JSON is sent to our server for scoring and report generation.
- No raw audio storage by default: We do not store your raw uploaded audio file on our servers by default. The structured analysis data is derived metadata and cannot be used to reconstruct the original audio.
3. Data We Collect
We collect and store the following types of data:
- Structured analysis data: The JSON output from audio analysis processing (waveform characteristics, frequency data, and derived MIDI information).
- Report content: Generated analysis reports including scores, breakdowns, and improvement suggestions.
- Email address: Collected via Stripe Checkout for payment receipt delivery and report access link delivery.
- Payment metadata: Transaction ID and payment status from Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment credentials.
4. Data Retention
By default, we retain the following data indefinitely to allow you ongoing access to your report:
- Structured analysis JSON data
- Generated report content
- Email-to-report mappings
Your right to delete: You may request deletion of your report data at any time by contacting us at support@mp3tomidi.art. Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete your analysis data, report content, and email mappings from our systems within 30 days.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe: Used for payment processing. Stripe Checkout collects your email address for payment receipts and report delivery. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Third-party AI APIs: We may use third-party AI language model APIs to generate natural-language report text (descriptions, suggestions, and explanations). Structured analysis data may be sent to these services for text generation. We use providers that commit to not using API-submitted data for model training.
6. No Model Training on Your Data
We do not use your uploaded audio files, analysis data, or reports to train machine learning models. Your data is used solely to provide you with the Service. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing or training purposes.
7. No Public Profiles or Community Features
mp3tomidi.art does not have public rankings, leaderboards, community features, or user profiles. Your analysis results are private and accessible only to you via your unique report link. No other user can view your scores or data.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies only, required for the basic functionality of the Service (such as session management and locale preferences). We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking cookies in the current version of the Service. No cookie consent banner is required for essential cookies under most privacy regulations.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right to access: You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Right to deletion: You may request that we delete your personal data, including analysis data, reports, and email records.
- Right to data portability: You may request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (JSON).
- Right to rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Right to object: You may object to certain processing of your personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@mp3tomidi.art. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
10. Children's Privacy
mp3tomidi.art is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted data to our Service, please contact us at support@mp3tomidi.art and we will promptly delete all associated data.
11. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
